Epidite is a hydrated sodium zirconium silicate mineral. Crystal fibrous, always in a white to yellowish color. Most of the notable specimens came from the famous Mont Saint-Hilaire Mine, Canada. The name of this mineral came from the Greek word "hope", it was a new mineral found in a potential Greenland mine.
